Counselling in Frome, Bath, Bristol and Street
Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy was formed in 1983 to offer professional and affordable psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy in Frome, Bath, Bristol, Street and surrounding areas.
We also provide counselling and psychotherapy training.
Our counselling service is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). All our counsellors adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) Code of Ethics.
We are also a member of the National Counselling Network.
Counsellor Training
We offer a number of training courses including Introduction to Counselling Skills, the Foundation certificate in Psychodynamic Skills and Attitudes, Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training. Our Diploma is accredited by both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and our Psychotherapy Training is accredited by the BPC. Our training equips qualified counsellors and psychotherapists to progress towards an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Bath Spa University and the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Programme with wpf-therapy and other training institutions nationally.
We are a formally-constituted, non-profit organisation – registered charity number 1056310 – with premises in Frome, Bath, Bristol, and Street. People come to us for counselling and psychotherapy and counselling training from all over south-west England.
Staffing
All training staff and supervisors on the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training are psychotherapists registered with the BPC or an equivalent professional organisation and are registered with the National Voluntary Register for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
